Fr NoeL: Sharing our faith

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Sunday 7th July

Jesus in today's gospel sends 72 people ahead of him to tell people about the kingdom of God.

At our baptism each of us received the Holy Spirit.

God empowers us to share our faith with anyone that we meet.

So whatever our circumstances young or old, married or single, employed or unemployed, God trusts us to let others people know about him.

The best way is by our example.

Let us thank God for all the gifts He has given us - especially the gifts of faith, hope and charity.

At Mass have you noticed that practically all the prayers are in the plural?

So in the 2nd Eucharistic prayer we pray - following the words of Consecration.

"We offer you Lord, the Bread of Life and the Chalice of Salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minster to you."

It is a privilege to worship God at Mass.

The priest reminds us at the end of Mass - "Go and glorify the Lord by your lives."

Let us thank God for believing in us to share our faith and for the example of faith that we have observed in other people.
